Edible Christmas Trees

I went to my peanut's class the other day because they were having their Christmas Party. One of the activities they were working on was to decorating a Christmas Tree. But this wasn't your ordinary tree, it was all edible food items. They took waffle cones and turned them upside down so the point of the cone was at the top, frosted it, then decorated it. It was so much fun watching the creative juices of young minds working. What's nice about this particular activity is that you can change it up to fit whatever creative mood you are in. For example if you don't want to mess with the food coloring, you can use green sprinkles or use coconut flakes. This is a versatile recipe.

Ingredients:
  • Waffle cones
  • White frosting
  • Green food coloring
  • Edible items to decorate with (i.e. gum drops, M&Ms, fruit loops)
  • Knife or spatula
  • Bowls
 Directions:
  1. Mix enough of the green food coloring into the frosting to turn it your desired shade of green.
  2. Put decorations into different bowls.
  3. Frost your waffle cone.
  4. Decorate.
